What to Expect at Your Child's First Musical Theater Class
Kids practicing a dance routine in a musical theater class in Round Rock, TX

Is your child always singing around the house, putting on shows in the living room, or just looking for a fun way to build confidence? Musical theater might be the perfect fit. But the first class can feel like a big step, for kids and parents.

Here's what a first class at Bravo Performing in Round Rock looks like, so your family knows exactly what to expect.

A warm welcome from day one

New students are never left on the sidelines. At the start of their first class, we give them a warm introduction to the group, so they feel welcome and start making friends right away. Many of our students had never been on a stage before. Some are outgoing, and some are shy. Musical theater works for both, and every child grows at their own pace.

Classes by grade level

We group kids by grade, so everyone learns alongside friends their age:

  • Bravo Juniors (Grades 1–4): Monday or Tuesday, 4:30–5:30 PM
  • Bravo Stars (Grades 5–10): Tuesday, 5:45–7:00 PM

What kids learn

Our program brings together the three building blocks of musical theater:

  • Acting: creating characters, expressing emotions, and improvisation games
  • Singing: vocal technique and learning songs as a group
  • Movement: stage movement and working together as an ensemble

Classes are led by Sebastian Vitale, a professional actor and singer, who brings real stage experience to every class, with lots of patience and energy. The focus is on fun, teamwork and confidence, not perfection.

What to bring

  • Comfortable clothes your child can move in
  • A water bottle
  • A positive attitude (that's all they really need!)

We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early. Classes are held at St. Philip's United Methodist Church, Administrative Offices, 16321 S Great Oaks Dr., Round Rock, TX 78681. Look for the Bravo Performing signs to find the right entrance.
